Once the irrigation system is set up properly, you can leave your plant completely alone for one or more weeks at a time, depending on the size of the plant.

Constructed with woven polypropylene resin that resembles wicker, this UV-resistant, impact-resistant, weatherproof planter comes in several colors to coordinate with your indoor or outdoor living area. The removable liners with integrated handles make it easy to move your plants inside or outside for watering, replanting, root-trimming, and overwintering.

How the Lechuza Self-Watering System Works
This modern, triple planter uses a self-watering, sub-irrigation system to nourish three plants. The included separator pieces form reservoirs in the base of each removable planter liner. A supply shaft with water level indicator runs along an inside corner of each liner, making it easy to add water and liquid fertilizer while maintaining complete watering control. A layer of LECHUZA-PON granulate drainage material lies on top of each separator and regulates the amount of water your plants receive, so you don’t have to worry about soggy roots anymore!

Once you’ve potted each plant with soil on top of the pon drainage material, you will need to water the plants from above through the soil for the first 12 weeks. Each time you water, fill up the supply shafts, too, and don’t forget to add liquid fertilizer every other watering. After that, the plants’ roots will have grown deep enough to soak up water from the reservoir below. All you have to do is refill the water supply shafts when the level indicators reach the Min position. By drawing water continually from the reservoir, your plants will be entirely self-sufficient for 1-12 weeks, depending on the size of your planter and plant. If using outdoors, remove drainage plugs from base to release excess rain water while still maintaining reservoir supply.
